Award-winning environmental management

Sedus’ entrepreneurial attitude and pioneering role in environmental protection are closely linked. After all, as Christof Stoll once said, “Ecology and economy are not contradictory concepts, but essential parts of the whole.”

One of the most recent awards includes the certificate from FISP (Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme), in which Sedus scored 94% and thus achieved an excellent outcome.

High Score with FISP

FISP is an independently certified sustainability programme tailored specifically to the furniture industry. It promotes best practices to drive social, economic and environmental change through the continuous improvement of members’ business operations. FISP has quickly established itself as the furniture industry’s forum for all environmental and sustainability issues. These issues relate to all aspects of the industry’s business, from purchasing and sourcing to end-of-life product issues, including social, ethical and labour concerns, as well as waste, energy and emissions.

The FISP review criteria are divided as follows: Core Criteria, Environmental Criteria, and Economic and Social Criteria. Here, Sedus was able to convince with excellent scores in the subcategories of Environmental Management, Energy, Administration and Efficiency, Waste Management, and Community Relations and Charity Work.
