Let there be light! – Sedus and CoeLux at Orgatec 2018 in Cologne
Sedus will present a true highlight of modern lighting technology at Stand B50 in Hall 8. The system developed by CoeLux brings artificial sunlight into the office. The impressive and realistic optics are enough to excite even the professionals.
Sedus developed a special lighting concept for the company stand this year, working in close collaboration with lighting designers Francesco Iannone and Serena Tellini from Consuline in Milan. Inspired by nature, the result is a splendid light installation that delights the eyes with its dynamism, movement, and attractive contrasts of light and colour. The lights and colour ranges have been selected with great care to achieve the desired result.
The revolutionary Coelux lighting system, which gives a room the feeling of natural daylight, had to be included. The CoeLux technology floods interiors with blue sky and the appearance of the sun, to give an intense feeling of comfort and wellbeing. The experience is so surreal and powerful that it can completely transform a person’s perception of a space.
CoeLux lighting systems reproduce the combined effect of sun and sky. This can enhance windowless rooms in particular, opening these up for new uses and functions. The system is based on a mix of state-of-the-art LED technology, that reproduces the sunlight’s spectrum, direction and brightness; an optical system that reproduces the endless distance of the sky and the sun and a millimeter-thick nano-structured material that produces the light and the colour of the sky in the atmosphere.
The installation planned for the Orgatec office trade fair (23 – 27 October in Cologne) shows CoeLux in action – in the meeting room where most video conferences will be held. CoeLux’s artificial sky will serve to counterbalance the screens that otherwise demand our sustained attention, providing a source of balance, relaxation and wellbeing.
