Global cooperation: Sedus and Watson
What began in Waldshut in 1871 is now being extended into the world; in keeping with the spirit of Sedus’ founder Albert Stoll and in line with the company’s claim to be future-oriented and innovative, Sedus has now built another bridge across continents. Together with the Watson Furniture Group from Poulsbo, Washington, a global cooperation has been sealed.
Partners with common values
The new partnership with Watson allows us to take another step in brand awareness, new markets and network expansion. Worldwide, our customers can therefore be offered a seamless service as well as a mix of offerings from both companies. There were various important aspects which were the focus of the merger: in addition to a strong partner who shares strategies and competencies, shared values are also particularly important. Together, Sedus and Watson stand for excellent design, sustainable production and a responsibility towards society. This also includes vital obligations towards the environment and towards the company’s own employees, as well as a future-oriented mindset. The aim is to combine knowledge and experience from Europe and the USA to create modern solutions and establish trends.
Together for productive working environments
Watson will license some Sedus designs and adapt them to meet US market and technical requirements. One of the first Sedus products to be introduced to the US market with Watson is the mastermind meeting and conference table – presented at NeoCon 2023.
“By partnering with Watson, we are expanding our international network. We will also be able to offer our existing customers worldwide an even wider range of complementary products with immediate effect,” explains Daniel Kittner, Director of Sales and Technology at Sedus Stoll AG. “Together, we will develop new products in the future; we will also adapt existing solutions, while complying with regional regulations, to offer customers a unique experience across the globe. We are very pleased to have Watson as a partner with whom we have a good, friendly relationship. The mutual trust and values we share are an optimal basis for the future.”
Clif McKenzie, Chief Executive Officer of Watson, adds: “We are delighted to be working with such a well-recognised and highly regarded company that shares our commitment to sustainability, corporate responsibility and design integrity. The similarities in the way we approach not only design but also production efficiency ensure a meaningful and beneficial relationship.”
